Vaporesso Armour Ultra Box Mod

The Vaporesso Armour Ultra Box Mod is a 100W regulated mod built for direct-to-lung (DTL) vapers who need serious, all-day battery life without managing spare cells or carrying a separate charger. It packs a 5500mAh internal battery into a compact, military-rated shell, powered by the AXON chipset and rated to IP68, IP69K and MIL-STD-810H standards. Available from Vaping 101 from £37.49, with free UK delivery on orders over £50, a price match guarantee and a full 1-year warranty backed by UK consumer law. This is the practical choice for everyday DTL vapers who want one-charge reliability, genuine drop and water resistance, and consistent output without the complexity of external batteries.

Introducing the Vaporesso Armour Ultra Box Mod

Built-in battery mods have come a long way, and the Armour Ultra sits at the front of that progression. Vaporesso has engineered a 5500mAh capacity into a body that’s approximately 25% smaller and lighter than its predecessor, the Armour S, making it roughly the runtime equivalent of two 18650 cells in a significantly more compact package. The AXON chipset drives four output modes: Boost, Pulse, Eco and Temperature Control. Charging is handled via USB-C at up to 9V/2A, a cable is included, and the reinforced 510 connector opens compatibility to virtually any sub-ohm tank or rebuildable atomiser on the market. Seven colour options round out a device that’s designed to hold up as well aesthetically as it does physically. For vapers who’ve been relying on dual-18650 setups, the Armour Ultra offers a compelling alternative. A sealed, internally charged design removes the need for loose cells in a pocket or bag, and the IP68, IP69K and MIL-STD-810H ratings mean genuine protection against water, dust and drops, not just marketing language.

• Finish options: Obsidian Black, Camo Silver, Dune Gold, Emerald Green, Titanium Silver, Storm Blue, Light Pink

The case for the Armour Ultra over a traditional dual-18650 mod comes down to three practical points: it’s lighter, smaller and eliminates the risk of loose cells in a pocket or bag, while delivering comparable runtime in a cleaner, sealed carry format.

Compatibility and Performance

The Armour Ultra uses a reinforced standard 510 connector, which means it pairs with the vast majority of sub-ohm tanks and rebuildable atomisers currently available. Vaporesso’s own tanks, particularly the iTank T, are a strong natural pairing – the iTank T uses GTi coils designed to work alongside the AXON Boost mode and its output characteristics.GTi coil compatibility with recommended wattage ranges:

• GTi 0.15Ohm Dual Mesh: 75-90W (best at 85W)
• GTi 0.2Ohm Dual Mesh: 60-75W (best at 65W)
• GTi 0.2Ohm Mesh: 60-75W (best at 65W)
• GTi 0.4Ohm Dual Mesh: 50-60W (best at 55W)
• GTi 0.5Ohm Mesh: 30-40W (best at 35W)

For e-liquid, high-VG shortfills at 70VG/30PG or higher are the right choice for this type of device. These produce denser vapour and carry flavour well at sub-ohm wattages. Browse our shortfill range or high VG e-liquids for compatible options. Nic salts and 50/50 e-liquids are designed for pod systems running at lower power and are not suited to this mod.The AXON Boost mode delivers a 25% improvement in first-hit stability over Pulse mode, so the first draw of any session is as strong and flavour-forward as any that follow. Pairing the Armour Ultra with GTi Dual Mesh coils extends that advantage further – Dual Mesh technology increases coil lifespan by approximately 30% compared to single-mesh equivalents while keeping flavour consistent throughout the coil’s life. Browse Vaporesso coils for GTi replacement options.Charging runs via USB-C at 9V/2A or 5V/3A, with the cable included in the box. The 9V/2A mode charges the 5500mAh pack significantly faster than standard 5V USB. No passthrough vaping is listed in the specification. Any tank used alongside the Armour Ultra should comply with UK TPD regulations, which cap commercially sold nicotine-containing e-liquid tanks at a maximum 2ml capacity.

Vaporesso Armour Ultra Box Mod Highlights

The Armour Ultra is built around three core strengths: its 5500mAh built-in battery capacity, military-grade physical protection and the AXON chip’s intelligent power delivery. Each of those areas has been developed with practical, daily use in mind rather than spec-sheet padding.

• 5500mAh built-in battery delivering multi-day runtime at typical DTL wattages – no spare cells, no external charger required
• AXON Boost mode for punchy, consistent first hits and flavour-forward performance with 25% greater power stability than Pulse mode
• IP68, IP69K and MIL-STD-810H rated – fully waterproof, waterjet-proof, dustproof and 1.2m drop-test certified
• Compact form factor – 25% smaller and lighter than the Armour S, with a metal cage-like frame that adds structural rigidity without bulk
• Reinforced 510 connector for a secure, stable fit with sub-ohm tanks and rebuildable atomisers
• USB-C fast charging at up to 9V/2A with the cable included in the box
• Seven premium finishes across Obsidian Black, Storm Blue, Emerald Green, Dune Gold, Camo Silver, Titanium Silver and Light Pink

It’s worth understanding what those IP ratings actually mean in practical terms. IP68 means the mod survives submersion to 1 metre for over 30 minutes. IP69K adds resistance to high-pressure hot water jets at up to 80 degrees Celsius. For anyone working in construction, outdoors or any environment where a device regularly gets wet or takes impact, these aren’t just reassuring numbers – they’re real performance guarantees.
